Accompanied for Caregivers

Cultivating compassionate parenting communities to enhance the well-being of you and your loved ones

Let’s be real here, caring for our families is HARD.

The responsibility of nurturing and guiding our loved ones, whom we adore more than ourselves, can be challenging and overwhelming, with no room for failure.

It's tempting to seek expert guidance, devouring parenting resources in search of the "right" way. Yet, conflicting advice and ineffective tips leave you feeling like a failure, straining your well-being and hindering the love and wisdom your loved ones need most.

Here's the truth: You don't need more advice.

Accompanied for Caregivers doesn't aim to fix you or your relationships.

Instead, it illuminates a path to uplift your entire family through authentic care, communication, and compassion.

“Struggling to communicate with my teenage son was a constant challenge until I discovered Accompanied for Caregivers. The program not only addressed my specific concern but also transformed my approach. Instead of trying to change my son, I shifted my focus to myself. Since joining Accompanied for Caregivers, I've experienced a significant positive shift—becoming happier, more appreciative of my blessings, and deeply grateful for everyone in my life.

Accompanied for Caregivers is rooted in the belief that we can increase the well-being of our youth through:

  • Strengthening a sense of community among parents and caregivers

  • Deepening our own sense of safety and belonging

  • Growing our confidence and competence with emotions (ours and our loved ones)

  • Improving our interpersonal relationship and communication skills

  • Increasing our own mindfulness and compassion skills

Mandarin Chinese Program

We proudly offer the Accompanied for Caregivers program in Mandarin Chinese, facilitated by fluent speakers and with subtitles for all materials. We are currently working on expanding our language inclusion so everyone has access to this program and others in their language and culture.

Individualized Coaching

This fall, we’re offering one-on-one coaching for parents who want to fully integrate the concepts they are learning in the Accompanied for Caregivers program into their daily parenting. Coaching allows you to make it personal: to explore your values, create a vision for your family, and take meaningful steps toward making that vision a reality with the support of a caring, nonjudgmental coach.

Dr. Bonnie McDaniel is an experienced facilitator in the Accompanied for Caregivers program, a parent educator, and a parent coach trained by the Parent Coaching Institute. Her passion is helping courageous people grow as parents. She is the proud parent of three young adults who went through their share of turbulence in their adolescent years.

“This class has created a tight-knit community among members. We've formed strong bonds through shared learning, meditation, and supporting each other. Engaging discussions often led us to extend class time. The in-person sessions feel like reunions among old friends, strengthening connections and enhancing mental health through mutual support.”

“As parents and partners, it's easy to feel like we're always giving, leading to exhaustion and frustration. This program provided me with tools to slow down and receive care from those around me, the caretakers on my shoulders. When I feel secure in my own worth and love, I have the energy to reflect that onto my loved ones. The goal is to extend that love and acceptance beyond myself, but it all starts with having my own 'love tank' filled up.
