Interview with Forefront Suicide Prevention
On May 30th, I hosted an hour of thoughtful discussion and impactful education on a topic that often raises fear and discomfort but is ultimately hopeful and empowering.
Megan Reibel of Forefront Suicide Prevention joined us for GATHERING and offered up vulnerability, compassion, and deeply honest conversation around the topics of suicide and mental health. We believe that opening the doors of communication, understanding, and general compassion on these topics leads to healing.
For those of you not in attendance, we covered everything ranging from:
Debunking the myths of suicide intervention
How talking about suicide openly is protective in nature
How to have frank and open discussions about suicidal ideation
How to provide support to someone suffering
The life-saving steps of L.E.A.R.N.
And much more
In continuation, we’re happy to share some helpful information from the chat with Megan that is useful to attendees and those unable to join us. If you are in a position to provide support and funding to Forefront to continue to provide K12 schools—and the larger community—the services needed to invest in and implement comprehensive suicide prevention without cost, you can do so here.
